When Conor McGregor faces the MMA media, it's fair to say he can rub people up the wrong way. He has a persona that he's built up and he sticks to it and why wouldn't he when it's worked for him so well. He's managed to grab the attention of the MMA world and used that as a platform to become a mainstream star in every sense of the world.
With that, as the man himself would say, he's bringing his star all the way to the bank and it's appearances like last night's one on Jimmy Kimmel Live that really allows him to do that. The suit wasn't toned down by any stretch of the imagination but the McGregor fight persona certainly was and he gave the American public a touch of a more friendly, amicable side. It was still McGregor of course but let's call it 'prime time McGregor' at his very best.
There were a couple of moments where he had to bite his tongue but, all in all, Dana White will have been watching it with dollar signs rolling around his head. If you want someone to sell a fight to the general public, there's no better man.
