There was a sneak peak interview with Conor McGregor on ESPN's Sportscenter on Thursday night - with the topic of conversation the question that most UFC fans would ask McGregor if given the chance...
Just what went on in that meeting between himself, Dana White, and Lorenzo Fertitta?
It was an intriguing response from McGregor. There seems to be a noticeable shift in his demeanour between this interview and nearly every other time he opens his mouth. There's no overly bravado cockiness in his voice here - it's merely the Dubliner laying it out like it is, and doing in an a respectful and humble manner:
We have a good relationship. It is what it is. It happens. This is the fight game. Sometimes emotions get into it. But it's important to recognize that emotions have no place in business. That's essentially what it was last night. We just set it aside. There's no place for emotions in this. We are doing beautiful things. So let's continue. Let's fix it and let's continue.
Whether this change in attitude comes from the loss to Nate Diaz, or his spat with the UFC remains to be seen. It even remains to be seen whether this will be a permanent chance from McGregor, but I think we will all be looking forward to the full interview from ESPN that will come out on Sunday.
