Well, this was not something we expected to see this weekend.
Conor McGregor's recent comments that he could a) defeat Jesus in the octagon, and b) that him and Jesus are cool because "Gods recognise Gods", were always going to cause a stir in the Christian community, but one baptist church in America has taken serious offence.
The Steadfast Baptist Church have posted a video to their YouTube page where a preacher goes on a rant against the Dubliner, stating that he hopes that God strikes the UFC featherweight champion dead.
That.. Doesn't seem very Christian.
The passionate rant was fueled by McGregor's comments on Jesus, but even used Ronda Rousey's recent fall from grace as an example of what can happen to people who become too big for their own boots.
The appropriate punishment for that? Being stuck down by lightening, apparently.
