Well this is absolutely gas.
Former WBO World middleweight champion Andy Lee once explained how Conor McGregor's greatest feat was becoming a cultural phenomenon. 'The Notorious' is now one of the most recognisable faces in world sport, and such has been his impact, most of us now know someone who sported a man-bun - even briefly - over the past two years.
It's rare you venture out in Dublin, Cork, Galway or anywhere in this country without coming across some bloke who's dressed like him, walks like him, or even talks shite like him. But it's even rarer that you bump into the man himself, save for when he's a guest at a nightclub or some such.
Following the Human Centred Movement Christmas party last night, Jason Cooney, Patrick Lavelle and Mick Groarty were mess-fighting on the mean streets of 'just outside Zaytoons' in Dublin last night, poised in McGregor's spider-like stance, legs swinging wildly and shouting "You'll do noothin", when a jeep rolled up alongside them. You know the rest.
It really is a small country. You can watch the chance encounter below:
A Christmas miracle! And what makes it even more remarkable is that the boys' Dublin-based company, HCM, is centred around teaching people to move more freely, and pain-free; McGregor, the self-proclaimed master of movement, partakes in very similar training regimes.
Cheers to Cameron Kenny for getting in touch with the above. We really enjoyed it.
