UFC 202 is in the books and it will be remembered as one of the best events of 2016.
Conor McGregor defeated Nate Diaz via majority decision to the delight of the many Irish fans in attendance, who could be heard throughout giving their support to the Dublin fighter. 'USA, USA, USA' chants were drowned out by 'Ole Ole Ole' as the McGregor fans once again ramped up the atmosphere in Las Vegas, and one man who was very appreciative of that fact was MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani.
Speaking on the Balls.ie MMA Show last week, Helwani said that he was missing the Irish fans from UFC 200 and was hoping that they would bring the atmosphere back to Vegas for 202, and clearly he was happy judging by his comments on The MMA Hour, where he recounted his experiences with the Irish fans after that infamous bottle-throwing press conference:
Helwani was referring to a UFC 202 Preview show that was featured on MMAFighting.com's YouTube channel, which you can see below:
Very kind words from Ariel, who hosted a particularly outstanding episode of the consistently outstanding MMA Hour on Monday where he was joined by John Kavanagh for an insight into the man behind Conor's successful gameplan for conquering Nate Diaz.
