Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo both met the 145lb requirement at the UFC 194 weigh-ins on Friday.
The Dubliner's gauntness - particularly around the cheekbones - was noticeable.
The weight cut to 145 is something which McGregor has spoken about previously, with disdain. It is also one of the reasons why it's hard to see him remaining in the division much longer. There is perhaps one more fight in him at featherweight. If he wins, a likely title defence against Frankie Edgar, lose and it's a possible rematch with Jose Aldo.
The facade of gauntness contrasted with McGregor's energy backstage before the weigh-in. In episode six of Embedded for UFC 194, the Dubliner dances foot to foot while Aldo's followers chant 'you're going to die' in Portuguese, a reference to what McGregor told the Brazilian during the first stop of their world media tour back in March.
Andre Pederneiras, trainer to Jose Aldo, is vocally confident of where his fighter is right now.
The first strike he lands will put Conor in a coffin.
