After Conor McGregor and Urijah Faber had a very strange altercation at UFC 189, the following announcement that they would face off as opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter Season 22 was met with excitement by a lot of fans.
At that point it was clear that Faber's friendship with Chad Mendes, his opponent on that night, was enough to make McGregor target him in his press conferences and make it perfectly clear that the two did not get along, so we were all expecting them to be at each other's throats for the duration of the show. It hasn't quite worked out like that, however, as McGregor and Faber don't have any intense hatred for each other, even if they do occasionally trade insults.
While UFC president Dana White was discussing the show on a recent TV spot, he revealed that although McGregor really wanted to hate Urijah Faber, he just couldn't, because nobody can.
