Brock Lesnar is the most successful professional wrestler to ever make the transition to professional fighting, while Ken Shamrock performed well in both, Lesnar went from sports entertainment to UFC Heavyweight Champion in just four fights when he TKO'd legend Randy Couture in 2008.
Lesnar successfully defended his title against Frank Mir and Shane Carwin before suffering two loses and retiring from the octagon after being diagnosed with the intestinal disorder diverticulitis.
Lesnar has since returned to WWE to great success and it is rare that someone can give such insight into both companies and he's spoken about the comparisons and contrasts of the two.
UFC supremo Dana White was recently involved in a twitter row where he called wrestling "fake shit", which brought angry from WWE fans and superstars alike.
@RKORollins not disrespecting what they do. All the WWE guys I have met are awesome people but yes it's fake.

Lesnar appeared on Sports Centre and was asked about White's comments and the former UFC Champion gave an interesting response.
He said,
Of course, Dana, it’s fake,
Everybody knows that, but it’s still the same – you’re promoting the same thing we’re promoting. Dana White is promoting fights, we’re promoting fights. It just so happens that we get a little more longevity out of our fight and out of our fighters because of the circumstances.
Dana, probably in his defense, is promoting fighting – but it’s the same thing. He’s trying to sell pay-per-views. He’s trying to sell money fights. It’s the same racket.
Lesnar continued and said he rated WWE Chairman Vince McMahon as a better promoter than White.
The business model is the same; it’s identical. I think Vince McMahon’s better at it than Dana, and that might rub Dana the wrong way.
Vince is the pioneer of it. He’s been doing this his whole life, and he’s damned good at it.
