A fighter's face does not tell the story of a fight. All you need to do is ask Patrick Cummins.
The 36-year-old light-heavyweight defeated Gian Villante on Saturday night at a UFC event on Long Island. Cummins and Villante went the distance, with the American winning by a split-decision in a tightly fought bout.
After the win, Cummins' eye swelled up, which meant a trip to a local hospital, but not before he had a chance to take a picture to remember his night in the Nassau Coliseum.

The win is Cummins' first back-to-back triumph in almost three years, and could move him into the top-ten of the UFC's light-heavyweight rankings. He began the night, ranked in 12th place, one spot ahead of Long Island's Villante.
Despite the injury, Cummins was quick to complement his opponent for their three-round war. It didn't win the Fight of the Night bonus, despite their best efforts.

It will be a while before Cummins is back in the Octagon. That eye will need some rest and recovery.
