Despite his claims to the contrary, Conor McGregor tonight proved he is beholden to the same laws of physics as the rest of us, in that it can be quite difficult to beat a much larger man to a bloodied pulp.
To add insult to McGregor's injury, he is also subject to the same cruel laws of irony that govern the rest of our lives. Following his entirely human decision to tap out from the hermetic seal Nate Diaz's forearm exerted upon his throat, the official McGregor after-party is to be hosted at a Vegas nightclub called *gulps* 'Surrender':

Tonight is the third time McGregor has tapped out in his MMA career, and is sure to regret it, judging by these quotes he gave to journalist Chris Jones for Esquire on the topic of tapping out:
It doesn't hurt. That's the wrong word. You're uncomfortable. McGregor knows the feeling. The last time he lost a fight, the sixth bout of his career, back in 2010, it was in thirty-eight seconds, and it was to a choke. He was so averse to the sensation, he tapped out before he lost consciousness, one of the great regrets of his life. "That ate me alive," he says. "After that, I said I was going to fight to the death. You're going to have to kill me."
