He's touched on it before, but now Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has stated just how big of a Conor McGregor fan he is. The wrestler turned Hollywood star was speaking to entertainment.ie ahead of the release of his new film, San Andreas, and the subject of McGregor vs Aldo brought up.
Making sure that everyone knows he 'loves that guy', Johnson went on to explain just how much he was looking forward to the big fight on July 11th.
Conor ain't no joke. He is a bad dude. And Aldo is a bad dude so you're going to have two bad dudes who are going to go at it.
While acknowledging the differences between WWE and UFC, Johnson nonetheless drew some parallels in the way that both he and McGregor are able to draw fans in with little more than a one-liner.
It reminds me about how I was in the WWE. I was bold and talking shit and there was nothing I wouldn't say.
Conor's a smart guy like that, he creates great interest. But it's not bullshit, he backs it up.
And although he was hesitant to pick a winner, he did seem to suggest that the Dubliner may just be able to get on top of Aldo before the fight even starts.
When someone has a mental edge, and at times I feel like I have seen that [with Conor], it becomes an edge.
So he pretty much thinks McGregor will destroy Aldo without any trouble. That's what we're reading into it anyway.
