Whiskey salesman Conor McGregor was this week banned from driving for six months and fined €1,000 for speeding. McGregor was caught speeding at 154kph in a 100kph zone, for which McGregor apologised in court by saying that "I apologise, that’s all I can say. I didn’t know I was going that fast".
McGregor was told in court that he was fortunate to be put off the road for only six months.
Shane Ross, everybody's favourite Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, gave his reaction to McGregor's penalty.
It proves nobody’s above the law and it makes an example of him, which is very, very important. Nobody is immune, if they behave badly they’re going to be punished just like anybody else.
Elsewhere, McGregor shared a video of his son on Instagram yesterday, in which he joked that he had found his new driver.
