Those who tuned in to UFC Fight Pass to watch 'Irish' Joe Duffy take on Dustin 'The Diamond' Poirier certainly got their 7-day free trial's worth in what turned out to be a cracking fight.
While the Irish fans were left disappointed by the result, the Donegal native left the octagon with his head held high after earning the respect of all who were watching, but Dustin Poirier earned a unanimous decision victory at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The first-round was an absolute cracker with both fighters landing huge shots, with the Irishman likely breaking the nose of Poirier, but the second and third round were dominated by the American as he took Duffy to the ground and landed some massive elbows.
Duffy rocked Poirier in the first:
But Dustin's elbows in the second set the tone for the fight:
Despite a late triangle attempt that looked good, it was an impressive performance from 'The Diamond' who was good value for his unanimous decision win.
The unanimous opinion from the three round war was that both fighters can be proud of their performance.

Impressive from Poirier, who, as the underdog, probably made people some money. Much respect for Duffy, never gave up in a gruelling fight.

Great performance from Poirier. Looked great. Took a few big shots and kept coming. Think Joe needed more urgency in getting up in 2nd
