UFC lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos says he's ready for a July return following the foot injury which ruled him out of his UFC 196 clash with Conor McGregor.
The Brazilian however indicated that he hasn't yet been given the green light to defend his title at UFC 200, stating his initial wish was for his own rematch with McGregor's conqueror Nate Diaz. According to Dos Anjos and the folks at INSIDE MMA, requests for this fight along with a potential pop at welterweight champion Robbie Lawlor were turned down by the UFC.
Speaking on INSIDE MMA, Dos Anjos also revealed he believes McGregor will never defend his featherweight belt because the Irishman "wants to retire a champion," and expressed his disbelief at 'The Notorious' facing Diaz on the same card as Jose Aldo's interim featherweight title clash with Frankie Edgar.
