The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department have launched an investigation into the Combate Americas event involving Nate Diaz and UFC fighter Clay Guida. It is reported that Guida has accused Diaz of battery.
The pair collided at the McClellan Conference Center in McClellan Park, California. Earlier this week Guida's manager John Fosco said in an interview with MMA Fighting that Diaz pushed Guida from behind which resulted in the American fighter falling into a metal rail and splitting his lip.
Speaking on Twitter, Tyler Diamond claimed he was also involved in the incident.
I was talking to Clay, after he got pushed I was immediately in the middle surrounded, tried deescalating the situation & that’s when shit hit the fan.

Guida faced Diaz at UFC 94 in 2009 and has been calling for a rematch in recent weeks. Diaz has not fought since his bout with Conor McGregor in 2016, but had been linked with a summer main event bout against Georges St-Pierre.
The police are now looking into the incident although it is said their investigation will take several weeks.
