The UFC 229 main event between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor was billed as the biggest fight in the history of the promotion, and it certainly was not short on drama.
McGregor returned to the octagon after a two year absence, with the unbeaten Russian standing between him and the lightweight title he was stripped of in April of this year. Khabib would put on a grappling masterclass, with the Irishman unable to deal with his dominant wrestling prowess before submitting in the fourth round.
What should have been the crowning moment of his career quickly descended into chaos however, as Khabib leaped out of the octagon to confront members of Conor's team. Some of his own entourage would also attack McGregor inside the ring, and the unsavoury scenes have been condemned by fighters and fans alike.
