On Thursday evening, Conor McGregor took to twitter to let the world know that he was going to make an announcement. However, he quickly deleted the tweet and what we were left with was the screenshot of a tweet about an announcement was never going to happen. You know you've really made it when you can get people to sit up an take notice about a deleted tweet about a possible announcement.
That's the kind of hullabaloo that McGregor has caused in the past couple of days and although it would appear that most of the sporting world have had their say, the Dubliner has been conspicuous in his silence. Since his short and snappy retirement tweet, nothing has come out of camp McGregor. We know he's training in Iceland but apart from that, there's not much else to say other than to speculate on why he's had such a sudden change of heart in relation to promoting UFC 200.
Well consider this your final warning because something is coming down the tracks.
Ok no more games.
I am going to release a statement shortly.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 21, 2016
To be fair to him, at least he's given us all a bit of warning this time around but you'd like to think he'll follow through on it this time out of fear into turning into 'that guy' if nothing else.
McGregor is turning into that Facebook friend you have who posts 'Having such a shit day' to fish for the 'u ok hun?' replies.

However, it must also be said that if it is all a marketing ploy, it's working rather well.
Conor McGregor has gained nearly 200,000 new Twitter followers since his retirement tweet on Tuesday.
