Ireland's youngest MMA star Nathan Kelly has been on RTÉ Radio One this morning, revealing how security had to sneak him out a sidedoor of the MGM on Saturday night after he was mobbed by fans.
McGregor may have thought he was the only show in town but it would seem Nate the Great proved nearly every bit as popular. He told Brendan O'Connor:
All the fans were asking me for photos and autographs, and all the little kids coming up to me and wanting to so staredowns; it was amazing.
Kelly has become something of a mini-superstar in the MMA world, given his huge interest in the sport and his natural ability on the microphone. Speaking to O'Connor this morning he explained the reasons behind his new-found fame, 'I think everybody just wants a piece of Nate the Great. Everybody just wants a photo with Nate the Great. That's the way it is.'
Of course, in typical McGregor fashion, Nathan didn't waste the opportunity of getting in a plug or two during his chat, adding 'everybody was just coming up to me and trying to get a look at that fresh Louis Copeland suit as well.'
Much to O'Connor's amusement. You can listen below.
