The UFC 200 card is shaping up very nicely indeed, especially with the company announcing another big title fight for the July 9th date. Joining McGregor v Diaz; and Aldo v Edgar, will be a women's bantamweight title fight.
After beating Holly Holm at UFC 196, Miesha Tate wanted to defend her title straight away - with Holm or Ronda Rousey expected to be the biggest challengers.
But the UFC have gone in a completely different direction, and have plumped for fourth ranked contender Amanda Nunes. Nunes is 12-4 in the UFC, but has never faced any of Rousey, Holm, or Tate - and this will be her first title fight. Her last loss was to the third ranked contender Cat Zingano in September 2014.
Most MMA fans, fighters, and commentators were confused over the choice of opponent for Tate, wondering why Holly Holm wasn't granted a re-match especially when McGregor was with Nate Diaz:
Wow not giving @HollyHolm the rematch. Crazy https://t.co/85nsMrfHk1

McGregor gets a rematch vs Diaz...at 170...after being submitted in round 2 in 1st fight. Holm gets no rematch vs. Tate.

The one sided Dana White vs. Holly Holm feud that doesn't need to exist is truly developing into one of the weirdest things in sports.

Cat Zingano wasn't pleased that she was overlooked either:

That said though, it's shaping up to be a huge card.
