When featherweight fighter Michael Johnson stepped in on short notice in order to fight Artem Lobov at UFC Moncton, the Russian Hammer made a generous offer to the American.
With a difficult weight cut ahead of him, Lobov promised Johnson that if his opponent missed weight, he would not accept the 20% of his purse due to him from Johnson for missing weight.
As it happened Johnson did miss weight, with the fight going ahead and Johnson winning by unanimous decision with a dominant performance over Conor McGregor's stablemate.
Two weeks after the fight and Johnson has revealed that Lobov has followed through on his promise, tweeting that his opponent was 'a man of his word':
In my book respect is always earned, never given. Hats off to @rushammer for not only a tough fight our last outing, but also being a man of your word. Respect was earned, hands down. #victory #teammenace #securethebag #bagsecured #menacecity #ufc pic.twitter.com/ifEIBinr95

For Lobov, his future in the UFC seems uncertain. The Russian has spoken recently about receiving offers to move to boxing prior to his bout with Johnson, though you feel that the featherweight will want to face Khabib Nurmagomedov team mate Zubaira Tukhugov, who was at the centre of the UFC 229 melee, before he fully gives up on MMA.
