The major question at the UFC 189 post-fight press conference was when will Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo face off to be declared undisputed UFC featherweight champion.
The Irishman beat Chad Mendes in Las Vegas to claim the interim belt after current champion Aldo was forced to pull out due to a rib injury.
UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta told media that January 2nd is the likely date for the unification fight as the promotion has the MGM Grand Garden Arena reserved for that date.
UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta: Probably Jan. 2 (for Aldo/McGregor), but that's not set in stone. We have MGM (Vegas) reserved on Jan. 2."

A January date for the encounter with Aldo would probably give McGregor a chance to fight at the upcoming UFC event in Dublin in October.
