Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo's featherweight unification fight is set for December 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Speaking with Yahoo Sports, Dana White said that MGM management had "moved heaven and earth" in order to allow the UFC hold the fight at the venue on December 12th.
In addition, the UFC president also stated that Ronda Rousey vs Miesha Tate 3 - which had been mooted for the same event as McGregor vs Aldo - will be held on another date.
December 5th was the date originally slated for UFC 194 but as a concert was being held at the MGM Grand, the much smaller Mandalay Bay Events Centre was the venue offered by MGM officials. This led to AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboy, being discussed as a possible host for UFC 194.
However, while speaking about Rousey vs Tate, White said that MGM 'really wanted the fight'.
That fight isn't going to be on the [Aldo-McGregor] card, for sure. If we were going to go to Dallas Cowboys Stadium, that's another story, but the MGM really wanted the fight and they made a huge effort for it and they got it. And it works out better for us to be in Las Vegas.
