A McGregor v Mayweather Pokemon simulation has been created, and it is quite hilarious - but fans of the 'Notorious' might not be happy with the result of the fight.
The to-and-fro between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather seems destined so continue for the foreseeable future, after Mayweather's response to Dana White's offer of $25 million for each fighter was simply to say of White (when asked by TMZ):
He's a comedian...look at my watch!
Mayweather wants $100 million to take the fight, offering McGregor $15 million and a potential share of pay-per-view sales. McGregor has responded with a provocative tweet or two, while his coach John Kavanagh - who loves a bit of social media wind-up merchantry - has also been stirring the pot.
Will we ever actually see this fight? Perhaps only both fighters really know. But so desperate are fans to see some form of action that a highly serious simulation of McGregor-Mayweather has been created.
Remember 'Rocky Balboa'? World champion Mason Dixon got fairly peeved when ESPN's simulation of a Rocky-Mason fight judged that Rocky would knock him out, provoking him into arranging a fight with the old brawler.
Well, this could well do the same for Conor McGregor. US sports website theScore has created a pretty marvellous Pokemon-esque McGregor-Mayweather match-up. We won't spoil it for you, but let's just say that fans of the 'Notorious' might feel slightly aggrieved...
McGregor v Mayweather Pokemon
Hilarious. In, win, grab the cash and get the hell out - that's the Mayweather way.
No doubt this will find its way into McGregor's hands. And when it does, let's hope it is the catalyst for the fight the whole world wants to see...the McGregor v Mayweather Pokemon rematch.
