The UFC have struck gold. UFC 189 with the Notorious Conor McGregor was their biggest fight ever, and the very next PPV event they put on got even bigger. Ronda Rousey and McGregor are the two biggest draws in the sport right now, so how can the UFC cash in on this?
By putting them together of course. There are plans afoot to add Rousey's next fight - another rematch with Miesha Tate - on the same card as McGregor and Aldo's title unification match. The McGregor and Aldo scheduled to take place in Dallas stadium at the turn of the year, the UFC hype machine could break if this goes ahead.
Rousey, for her part, wants to be there:
I would like to be on the Aldo-McGregor card if possible. That would be really cool.
This would make huge sense for the UFC, who haven't expanded into football stadiums yet, as they wanted a big enough draw. A McGregor-Rousey card would certainly qualify as that.
Dana White confirmed last night, that the UFC is very interesting in this, even giving a date:
I'd like to put her on that card. That card is probably going to be in Dallas, Texas stadium. December (5), I hope so. We're working on it.
It's a tantalising possibility that just gets closer and closer.
