It's been quite a day for the UFC. In just his eighth fight in UFC, McGregor has had to deal with four fighters pulling out - with lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos becoming the latest, after Jose Aldo pulled out of UFC 189.
Rumours about who would step up to replace Dos Anjos surfaced almost immediately, with fighters like Pettis and Cerrone throwing their hats into the octagon - before Aldo's manager confirmed that the Brazilian rejected the chance for a re-match at short notice.
But now, according to CBS reporter Jeremy Botter, we could know the name of Dos Anjos' replacement:
Several sources are reporting that it will be Nate Diaz fighting Connor McGregor at UFC 196 and that fight will be catchweight

Diaz has lost to Dos Anjos before in his career, after failing to make the weight limit in 2014. The controversial figure won his last fight against Michael Johnson in December, but has had two long periods of inactivity in the UFC - the first of which lead him to be wiped from the lightweight rankings.
