Conor McGregor has responded to the news that Floyd Mayweather has signed a deal with a mixed martial arts company and will fight a kickboxer in Japan on 31 December.
The news emerged yesterday that 41-year-old five-weight world champion Mayweather will return to competitive action for the first time since he face McGregor in a boxing contest last year. He will face Tenshin Nasukawa at the RIZIN.14 event in Saitama. The format and rules for the fight have not yet been announced.
It prompted UFC star McGregor to give his considered take, given his history with 'Pretty Boy Money' Mayweather.
"Fair fucks to you mate. No lie," he wrote in a comical and bizarre Instagram post.
There had been discussions that Mayweather would challenge McGregor's recent opponent, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Khabib had called for the fight on social media.
Yet it seems he is destined for a different, although no doubt similarly lucrative, market.
As for McGregor, it is still unknown when he will return to the Octagon.
