Looks Like It's Going To Be Ireland Vs England At UFC Dublin

It's more than likely that it's make or break time for Cathal Pendred. Even when he was winning fights, it's fair to say the SBG fighter was not exactly winning too many new fans with the manner of his victories over the likes of Sean Spencer or Augusto Montaño.

Workmanlike would be a fair way to describe Pendred's unbeaten start to his UFC career. However, that unbeaten run came to an end at UFC 189 and now fans can no longer point to a clean record when detractors are less than complimentary about the Irishman's style.

However, 4-1 is still far from a bad record and Pendred's ambitions of climbing the welterweight rankings are still very much intact. And now he knows exactly what he has to do.

With Joseph Duffy vs Dustin Poirier already confirmed as one of UFC Dublin's headline bouts on October 24th, The Sun are reporting that you can now also add Pendred vs England's Tom Breese as another intriguing match-up.

Breese was impressive on his UFC debut last time out in Glasgow and in the aftermath of his TKO win over Luiz Dutra, his thoughts were already looking towards Pendred and a bout on the October card, now he's got his wish.

The 23 year represents a different kind of challenge for Pendred. Up to now, the Dubliner has mainly faced more experienced fighters who, if you're being cynical, you could call journeymen. With Breese looking to make a name for himself among the European welterweights, this time it's Pendred who may need to use his experience to get back to winning ways.
