A bout between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov is undoubtedly the fight that most UFC fans would like to see get made.
There still is a lot of ifs and buts surrounding any potential title bout between the two, McGregor will have to wait until his court date on the 14th of June to find out the repercussions of his ill-fated bus attack, when the lightweight fighter threw a trolley at a bus containing rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.
But it appears that the UFC are hopeful that a fight can be arranged between the two earlier than expected with Nurmagomedov revealing that discussions have begun to get 'the Eagle' back in the Octagon as early as September:
A lot of people ask me about my next fight. To be honest I don’t know. I don’t know when it’s going to be. Now we talk about this with the UFC. It’s going to be maybe 9 September or 6 October. I don’t know about opponent; Conor, GSP, whoever. It doesn’t matter, we’ll see. Next couple of weeks it’s going to be very fun because now we’re beginning to talk about my next fight with the UFC. I feel great, I feel good. Now we have Ramadan and we train only night and feeling good and great. My weight is good, my shape is good. I am always training everyday, sometimes I train two times.

UFC boss Dana White spoke over the weekend on the chances of seeing the Notorious back in the cage this year and the 48-year-old stated that the results of McGregor's court date would determine whether the Dubliner would be returning to action with the company:
It depends what goes on with him in New York in June. We can't determine anything about him until June is cleared up.
