Joseph Duffy appeared on TV3's Ireland AM to announce that he is the new headliner for the upcoming UFC Dublin event.
Duffy confirmed the rumours that he will be fighting Dustin Poirier at the 3Arena on October 24th. It's widely expected that he'll be joined on the card by fellow Irish fighters Cathal Pendred and Paddy Holohan.
It's just four months since Duffy's debut in the UFC, and to be headlining an event already is a huge show of faith in the Donegal man.
He's unbeaten so far in his UFC career- albeit just two fights into his career. Duffy is following in McGregor's footsteps, after the interim featherweight champion faced Poirier just last September. Poirier has since moved up a weight division to face Duffy this October.
It does seem like the UFC have big plans for Duffy, and it might not be long until the last man to beat McGregor is a similar draw to the Crumlin fighter.
