It was rumoured that Conor McGregor had a $3 million bet about the short length of time it would take for him to knock out Chad Mendes in UFC 189. His opponent for UFC 194 wants their fight to be even shorter.
McGregor famously claimed that he'd knock out Mendes within two rounds - which is what subsequently happened. In his featherweight title unification bout, Aldo wants to finish things early.
The No.1 pound for pound fighter in UFC was taking part in a Q&A session on Combate's facebook page:
As fast as possible, so no one suffers, including me, and we can come back home quickly to eat and celebrate. My last fight was a war, but we’ll suffer way less this time.
That said though, Aldo won't be as brash as McGregor was, and is stopping short of making a bet on the length of the bout - equally happy to go the full 25 minutes with the Notorious:
It doesn’t matter if I’m going in there and finishing him quickly, if I’m punching him once and he goes down. The important is that I’ll come out victorious, it doesn’t matter what I’m going to do in there.
