In what would have been the biggest fight in UFC history, Conor McGregor was set to go head to head with featherweight champion Jose Aldo. In the end though, Aldo withdrew from the fight, and McGregor had a similarly big fight against Chad Mendes.

Less than a month later, McGregor is the interim featherweight champion and everyone is waiting for a date to be set for the two to reunite. That includes Brazilian Jose Aldo, who is back in training ready for the fight after his rib injury.

My rib is fine, I returned to training now. I’m just waiting for them to book the fight so we can fight on the same night as Werdum. I hope we’re there together.

If you book this fight today, we’ll beat him. The strategy was already set. We trained for him once and we saw that our strategy would work with his fight against Mendes. We have the most logical way to win and we try to improve every time more.

There is no official date for the fight, with Dallas stadium mentioned as a likely venue in December or January. With how the pair clashed on their monumental hype-tour before the original July date - things could get even bigger for this fight.
