UFC Light-Heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones, who tested positive for cocaine metabolites before he defended his title against Daniel Cormier earlier in the month at UFC 182, is already out of rehab having spent a very short amount of time at a drug treatment facility.
In fact, Jon Jones rehab visit lasted just one night, as his mother explained in an interview with a local New York new station. Camille Jones also described her son's positive cocaine test as a "blessing from God", as she continued:
This let him know that he may need to change some friends, because everyone is not for you, for the best. This is a good thing as far as our family is concerned, so we weren't upset. Me and my husband considered it a blessing from God that our child was able to be helped, and know that he need to stop, and know that he needed the assistance to stop before it came to something worse.
Jones' mother also confirmed that Jon will be "continuing to get more educated on the subject" going forward. Due to the testing coming out of competition, Jones faces no official punishment, and many UFC fans seem upset that fighters of a lesser stature than Jones have been cut from the UFC for seemingly less substantial offences, but the official line from Dana White is that the UFC are fully behind Jones in his recovery.
