Jon Jones safely secured another light heavyweight title defence at UFC 239 against Thiago Santos at T-Mobile Arena and his next move is set to be an interesting one.
The obvious and much-desired option is a third fight with longtime rival Daniel Cormier. DC would first have to defend his heavyweight belt against Stipe Miocic at UFC 241 in August and Jones will have to recover after last night's gruelling contest but a bout could take place later this year.

The controversial UFC star did declare that he was open to another Cormier fight after the bout.
Me and Daniel, we’re both speaking the same thing. It’s going to be a superfight, and the only reason why it hasn’t happened is, I think, the UFC’s scheduling. When the UFC’s ready for the fight, they know they have two guys who are willing and able and they’ll approach us and they’ll say, ‘Hey, this is what he’s going to get paid’ and Daniel will be happy.
He did add that he sees his future in the light heavyweight division.
Jon Jones says he probably will take a 3rd fight with Daniel Cormier later this year, or a fight with Stipe Miocic if he beats Cormier in Anaheim next month. But Jones insists "my passion is in the light heavyweight division."

Cormier for his part has also indicated he is open to it, should the UFC cough up first: " When I’m done with Stipe and Dana opens up the book and goes this is what you guys are getting paid, then you guys may get a third fight."
