Joe Rogan did another of his Fight Companion podcasts at the weekend and, alongside with his guests Brendan Schaub, Ian McCall & Eddie Bravo, he pondered the possibility of a McGregor/Robbie Lawler match-up at UFC 200, a fight which would necessitate McGregor moving up a further weight class to welterweight.
Before that happens, however, McGregor will first have to navigate the challenge of Rafael dos Anjos at lightweight on March 5. It is a fight Rogan predicts he'll win, although he admitted that McGregor will find the step up in weight a challenge.
In spite of that, Rogan believes McGregor has the "undeniable power" to overcome such a challenge, referring to McGregor's left-hand as possessing "the touch of death", something which Jose Aldo may agree.
Rogan feels that McGregor is capable of taking care of almost anyone up to welterweight - including Lawler - with one exception: Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson, with Rogan claiming that McGregor would be unable to live with Wonderboy's kicking power.
On the subject of the above, Rogan let slip a major rumour in relation to Wonderboy's next opponent: Rory MacDonald. Despite losing narrowly to Robbie Lawler at UFC 189 last year, MacDonald is viewed as one of the few fighters capable of causing Thompson to lose just the second MMA fight of his career.
Although not confirmed, Rogan did let slip that he had already recorded an official video to hype the fight that an awful lot of fans are going to absolutely love.
