It's worth keeping in mind that Chael Sonnen loves nothing more than everybody talking about him, and when people are talking about something he said on his "You're Welcome" podcast, then that's even better for him, but he has made some very interesting comments regarding Jose Aldo.
Sonnen claims that he has spoken to people in Brazil that are not confident that Aldo will show up to fight Conor McGregor at UFC 194 in the MGM Grand on December 12th, which would go in-line with what Conor McGregor has been saying ever since the fight was rescheduled.
I am hearing things from people in Brazil, and in this sport where there is smoke there is fire. Every single time - if there is smoke there is fire, and I am hearing things from people in Brazil.. That they are not confident that Jose's gonna make the walk. I want that fight to happen, I really do, and I don't wanna start a rumour here... But that's what I heard.
Hmm...
Sonnen's reasoning for believing these reports is that he was stunned to see Aldo not fight McGregor the first time, due to the size of the purse, and considering Also is always harping on about his salary. It remains to be seen if we will hear any more on this, but with the fight exactly one month away it makes worrying reading for those who were dying to see McGregor v Aldo.
Of course, McGregor v Edgar as the replacement fight would still be one hell of a spectacle, but with the amount of hype the UFC has generated for the title unification fight, we were hoping to see it once and for all.
