Ian Garry knocked out Jordan Williams on his UFC debut at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.
The 23-year-old Dubliner's bout with the 31-year-old American Williams was the final fight on the early prelim card at UFC 268.
Garry had a nervy start to the fight, and his opponent had the better of the opening exchanges, but the Irishman took over halfway through the opening round.
With seconds to go in the first round, Garry landed a powerful right hand which sent Williams stumbling, and secured the victory.

"You're fuckin' right it is!" the now 8-0 Garry responded when Joe Rogan said, "the hype is real".
"I just want to say, that was some hell of a knockout, but Jordan put up a great fight for the first round.
"For the first time in my life, I felt a little bit of nerves, a little bit weird. 23, and I'm making my UFC debut at MSG. It doesn't get bigger than this. We just shocked the world. The Irish are back baby.
"Of course it did. It's the biggest stage on the planet for a fighter. I'm fighting in the most historical venue in the world. McGregor, Ali, Mayweather, Pacquiao - everybody has fought here. And now, Ian Garry has fought here!"
