Excitement is finally starting to build around, what is bound to be, one of the biggest nights in mixed martial arts history, UFC 194. Ireland's own Conor McGregor will take on the pound for pound best fighter in the UFC Jose Aldo, provided he isn't "injured" again, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, December 12th. To take all the hassle out of the event, we have compiled the balls guide to possibly the biggest sporting event of the year, including how to watch UFC 194.
1. Go to Vegas
This step may be easier said then done but it is still a possibility. Tickets for this massive event are still available, with prices starting from $750 and working their way into the thousands with a ring side seat costing a measly $4,500. Booking flights at this point will set you back about €470, flying in a day before and leaving a day after the 12th. With hotel rooms working out to some €200 per night, your looking at not having much change out of €2,000 before you've seen a punch thrown.
2. Go to the pub
If Vegas is not on the cards, then heading down to your local might be a far more cost effective way to watch UFC 194. Many venues throughout Ireland will be televising the main card however this option comes with a health warning because of the time difference. With the main card not due to start till 4am Irish time, there is every possibility that we won't get a glimpse of McGregor until close to 6am. That is a long night in the pub by anyone's standards. Half ten mass on Sunday morning will be empty.
3. Watch it at home with some friends.
Should the pub prove to be too expensive for you and your gang, there is always the option to watch the event at home. BT Sport will be televising the event, as well as a host of other streaming sites like UFC.tv. So invite everyone over for an MMA marathon and remember to stick to the legal streaming sites, Mystic Mac himself still needs to get paid for his efforts in the octagon.
