He may be one of the most high profile fighters in the UFC but there's only so much bad press Anthony Johnson can receive before the organisation decide to cut ties. 'Rumble' has a history of domestic violence and this latest indiscretion is certainly not the kind of thing that helps that image.
The post was deleted before long. However, the damage was done and Johnson once again took to Facebook to apologise.
Whether that is enough for the UFC to overlook his latest indiscretion is another matter. The organisation have since released the following statement making it clear that this is not being taken lightly.
UFC is aware of the situation involving Anthony Johnson. We take these matters seriously and have commenced a formal investigation by a third-party law firm. We will act accordingly once we gather more information.
Depending on the result of that investigation, Johnson is due to take on Jimi Manuwa at UFC 191, his first fight since losing to Daniel Cormier in a light-heavyweight title fight at UFC 187.
