If coach John Kavanagh is to be believed then Irish fans are in for a treat this May. The SB gym owner has been hinting that Gunnar Nelson's return to the Octagon could be against up-and-comer Darren Till on Irish soil.
Nelson's last match was against Argentine Santiago Ponzinibbio on 16th of July of last year. Nelson was knocked out in the first round, but there were accusations that the Argentinian had been using eye pokes which Nelson's camp thought should have been called by the ref.
Liverpool native Darren Till is the man the Icelander is reportedly up against, Till signed to the UFC in 2015 and made his mark in his division last October, knocking out welterweight gatekeeper Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone.
Nelson's coach, John Kavanagh, has been suggesting on Twitter that a fight with Till in the 3 Arena could be on the cards:
If UFC were coming to Dublin late May ??? how would you the fans feel about a Gunni v Till main event?

It would seem nearly 30,000 are going to be happy ?

Till is also eager for the bout to happen, in a recent interview Liverpudlian claimed that fighting Gunnar on foreign soil wouldn't faze him:
Even in Dublin, I’ll fight Gunnar, let’s do it. I’ll fight Gunnar in Dublin.
Fans of both Nelson and Till were very enthusiastic about any potential match up:
I couldn’t vote coach cause ecstatic wasnt an answer

Seems I may have to book flights to Dublin then?!?

I’d genuinely love to see this, I’m worried Till MIGHT be getting the over hype treatment after the Cerrone fight so be great to see Gunni really test him!
