There were rumours - pre-UFC 196 - that if Conor McGregor won against Nate Diaz, he was going to call out Georges St-Pierre in the Octagon setting up a superfight at UFC 202.
That theory has been given further credibility by the UFC releasing video of GSP watching the McGregor and Diaz fight. The expectation going into the fight was that McGregor would win. Presumably the UFC was planning to use video of GSP to hype a fight between the Canadian and McGregor.
GSP called the bout a 'crazy good fight'. He also felt - like most - that McGregor won the first round and that if Diaz was going to win, he had to 'switch gear'.
Surprisingly, St-Pierre thought that Diaz was the one tiring in the second round - not McGregor. He also said that the Irishman looked in superior physical condition.
GSP summed up Diaz's performance 'mind-blowing' and a 'showcase of determination and heart'.
