After a week in which Dana White admitted that Conor McGregor may never fight in the UFC again, a couple of his former opponents submitted themselves to the harsh drama of UFC 218.
It was a remarkable card, with opposing sentiments for Jose Aldo and Eddie Alvarez. The former was battered into submission by Max Holloway, while Alvarez staved off the challenge of Justin Gaethje in a classic. More of that in a moment, but first we bring you the most chilling KO of the night.
Heavyweight Francis Ngannou fought Alistair Overeem in the biggest night of his UFC career to date, and made good on his fearsome reputation with a nuclear left-hand that picked Overeem off his feet and left him horizontal and defeated.
HOLY LEFT HOOK! ?

Elsewhere, Max Holloway battered Jose Aldo into submission in their rematch to attach further legend to his featherweight career.
"Look what he just did to the consensus greatest featherweight of all-time..." ?

It was a better night for Alvarez, who brawled through almost four rounds with the previously-undefeated Gaethje before eventually
sealing victory with a knee, his first since 2016.
WOOOOOW! ?
The Underground King is back at the expense of Justin Gaethje!
