Footage has been released of the incident which has landed Conor McGregor in court in Miami, and it appears to show the MMA star grabbing the phone of a fan before smashing it on the ground. The incident occurred in Miami last month, with Dubliner charged with ‘robbery by sudden snatching’ and criminal mischief.
Lawyers representing the Irishman entered pleas of not guilty in a Florida court last night, where McGregor was not present.
The footage of the incident was released by the Miami authorities. It shows McGregor entering the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel on March 11th, surrounded by a number of security personnel. A fan, with the flash on his phone on, tries to take a video of the UFC fighter, before McGregor appears to snatch the phone from his grasp and knock it to the ground before stamping on it.
He is due to appear in court in Miami on April 30th, with a trial set to take place on May 13th.
