Earlier today The Notorious Conor McGregor took to Facebook to issue an apology to the fans that paid to meet him but were unable to after a talk for charity with his SBG teammates at The Wright Venue in Swords, Co.Dublin.
Having read the comments under that Facebook post, tweets from those present, as well as a number of first-hand accounts over on r/mma, it seems clear that the organisation of the event resulted in lots of fans who paid for the privilege of meeting McGregor were unable to do so.
Event not organised properly by @takeover_2015 team. Hundred or so disappointed fans leaving @TheWrightVenue @andrewmcgahon_ @SeanSheehanBA

A lot of upset fans in the Wright Venue as something has happened and Conor and the SBG lads have left without... https://t.co/646QwCFJ6r

That's a real shame.
Of course the fans who wanted to go were going to pay the extra €10 to meet Conor McGregor, so to oversell the VIP tickets when they were not sure that everyone would have a chance to meet Conor is poor form.
The reaction from the fans indicates that McGregor went out of his way to please as many people as he could, and even issued an apology to those that he couldn't, so the blame lies with those in charge of the organisation of the event.
