A 'disgusted' Dana White spoke to Fox Sports following the mayhem which erupted at UFC 229 after Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor to retain the lightweight title.
Nurmagomedov jumped out of the octagon following the fight and attacked McGregor team member Dillon Dannis. Moments later, a member of Nurmagomedov's team jumped into the octagon and punched McGregor.
"A lot of stuff that shouldn't have happened," said White when asked for his view of the events.
"Khabib jumped over the cage going after one of Conor's guys who was talking trash to him."
White said that three members of Nurmagomedov's team were arrested. However, he later added at the post-fight press conference that they were released after McGregor refused to press charges.
God knows what the Nevada State Athletic Commission is going to do to Khabib and his guys, I think they're fighters. Are these guys ever going to get a visa again to get back in this country?
There's a lot of repercussions from what he did tonight, ones that I don't even think they realise yet.
White said that he has met McGregor and that the Irishman is OK.
The UFC president took the decision to not put the belt around Nurmagomedov's waist in the octagon.
"I said if we put the belt on him in the octagon, they're going to throw whatever they've got into the octagon," said White.
"I said, let's try to get him out of here without any incident."
