Holly Holm's reign as bantamweight champion was a short one. It lasted just four months and ended with her first title defence on Saturday night.
Going into the final round - the first ever fifth round in women's UFC history - Holm was likely ahead on points. Then, with less than two minutes remaining, Miesha Tate took Holm to the ground.
Seconds later, Tate had a rear naked choke locked in and 'Big' John McCarthy ended the fight when Holm slipped into unconsciousness.
Holm earned a basic salary of $500,000, plus bonuses and sponsorship, for UFC 196.
It could have been a lot more had Holm waited for a rematch with Ronda Rousey rather than taking the match-up with Miesha Tate.
Speaking on ESPN Radio, UFC president Dana White did not suppress his thoughts regarding Holm's agent, Lenny Fresquez.
Here's the thing: he's an old boxing guy who thinks that he is smart, he is not.
I feel bad for Holly because I don't really know if Holly realises what she lost. I think that she has so much faith in the people that surround her. She feels like 'Well, they've got me here'. We had this meeting and Holly wasn't even in it. Holly, that's your life, you should be in that meeting. Don't leave it to these people, this guy - oh my God.
Listen, Holly made a lot of money. She accomplished great things, she beat Ronda Rousey. It could have been so much bigger for her.
You can watch White on ESPN Radi below, where he also talks about Conor McGregor and how Nate Diaz made 'millions' from UFC 196.
