Things have gone quiet on Conor McGregor as the Notorious awaits punishment for his bus attack in early April, but today UFC boss Dana White has issued an update on the situation.

White was asked about the punishment Conor McGregor will receive from the UFC following the attack and speaking to TMZ Sport, the 48-year-old revealed that the company would not be penalising the Dubliner until the ruling from his court case happened. McGregor is due back in court in New York on the 14th of June to answer charges of assault and criminal mischief:

We'll see what happens. He’s gotta be punished by the law first. Let’s see what happens in New York. He's gotta go through that first.

White was also asked whether any potential bout between current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and McGregor would take place in Russia, but the UFC boss ruled it out, but did say that the UFC would visit Russia somewhere down the line:

If you do a fight that big you've got to do it in Vegas. Khabib will fight in Russia at some point but it won't be that fight. It's too big, you've got to do it in Vegas.

In the wake of the recent peace talks between North and South Korea White also mentioned South Korea as a possible venue for future UFC events:

South Korea is a huge focus for us right now, they're building a new arena down there it's supposed to be incredible and we're looking to go down there as soon as it's done.

McGregor himself has been very quiet on social media as of late but did post a picture with his training partner Dillon Dannis on Instagram after the latter won his first pro fight at Bellator 198 over the weekend. The Brazilian defeated Kyle Walker, finishing him in the first round of their catchweight 175 lb contest.

Congrats to my brother @dillondanis on winning his MMA debut tonight! #Proud
