UFC president Dana White was made to look quite foolish on a recent scouting trip to watch a 'Legacy FC' event when he made the age old mistake of judging a book by it's cover.
This coming Saturday, karate and kickboxing prodigy Sage Northcutt makes his UFC debut against Fransisco Trevino on the UFC Fight Pass under card, but a few months ago he left Dana White stunned with his performance as a relative unknown.
White, along with UFC legend Matt Serra were seen on camera openly mocking Northcutt for looking like an Abercrombie & Fitch model, but little did they know that the kid had 77 world titles in his martial arts career as an amateur, and has a 100% record as a pro. When he finished his opponent with consummate ease, White was stunned.
I got to be honest with you. So, we are coming out here and studying guys. I counted him out, man. We had that picture of him and I'm like, 'We got the pretty boy who thinks he wants to fight.' That's exactly what I said. And then you shut us the hell up, let me tell you what. Everything was legit, so congratulations.
Dana is a man who loves to be proved wrong.
We can't wait to see what Sage Northcutt gets up to in his UFC debut now.
