There aren't too many divisive figures in Irish sport. Roy Keane is one, and probably the only challenger to Conor McGregor.
In the Sports Illustrated documentary, McGregor talks about his Irish pride, how often he's stopped for selfies. It's clear he's touched by all the support he gets from Ireland.
But even he isn't immune from being pulled over by the gardai. In the same documentary, McGregor recalled a time in Ireland when he was pulled over, and expected the worst.
He pulled me in, and I'm like fuck he's going to give me a ticket, or bring me to court or some fine.
What he didn't expect was the garda to ask to get into his passenger seat to take selfie.
All of which means you either love him or hate him even more and the Garda in question had better hope that there's no evidence connecting him to the incident.
