Five months after he set the record for the highest purse ever earned by a UFC fighter, Conor McGregor has regained that record with his appearance at UFC 202.
Back in March, for his first fight against Nate Diaz - which was initially supposed to be a title bout against Rafael dos Anjos - McGregor earned €1 million. That mark was increased by Brock Lesnar at UFC 200. For his comeback fighter against Mark Hunt - a unanimous decision win for the man on loan from WWE - Lesnar made $2.5 million.
According to MMA Junkie, the Nevada Stade Athletic Commission confirmed that the Irishman will make a disclosed purse of $3 million for tonight's fight.
That amount will be more than his opponent Nate Diaz. The 31-year-old will earn $2 million.
The $3 million is just the disclosed purse and does not include any deals with the UFC such as McGregor getting a cut of the gate and pay-per-view revenue. McGregor said earlier this week that he would be making $10 million from UFC 202.
