After lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos pulled out of the highly-anticipated title fight against Conor McGregor, the expectation was that McGregor would end up fighting the Brazilian eventually as he aims to become a two-belt champion in the UFC.
But that might not be the case anymore, after suggestions that should McGregor beat Diaz at welterweight next Saturday - that he will face welterweight champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 200.
Did everybody miss the point in Danas announcement? If Connor wins, he's fighting Robbie next.

That would be absolutely monumental for the UFC.
Here you have one of the most entertaining men in all of sport right now, not to mention a fighter who has dismissed every challenger to stand in front of him with ease in McGregor, and probably the most entertaining fighter in the UFC right now in Robbie Lawler.
While Conor McGregor has dominated the headlines over the last 18 months and caught the attention of the mainstream sporting public, Robbie Lawler has also been doing incredible work and his last two fights against Carlos Condit and Rory McDonald will be remembered as all-time classics. His main events never disappoint, and it would be absolutely fascinating to see Conor's style up against the cyborg-esque ability of Lawler to keep coming back for more and land big shots while doing so.
McGregor remained very non-committal about facing Dos Anjos at the press conference last night, lamenting that a number of his challengers have either withdrawn from fights with him or rejected the chance to get into the octagon with him:
It’s hard to commit to dos Anjos again. when you pull out with an injury like that, a bruise on the foot, there’s not much I can do to help you to bring you back into the mix. So it does change things a little bit, but we have to see how that one plays out.
Could it really happen?
We won't know until after UFC 196. They say never look past your next fight, and McGregor must pass his first test at welterweight before we can consider a fight with Lawler, but it's easy to imagine that the UFC would be absolutely over the moon to announce McGregor vs Lawler at UFC 200.
Who wouldn't want to see that fight?
